This edition became the Official Swedish Bible up until 1917 and has therefore played an important part in forming the Swedish language. The well-known Swedish songwriter and singer Carl Michael Bellman (1740-1795) used words and expressions found in this Bible.

The Swedish reference work “Den svenska Bibeln genom tiderna” starts its chapter regarding Swedish Bible translations in the 18th century stating “Among the more than 40 Swedish Bible publications in the 18th century, Carl XII’s Church Bible is the best regarding design and significance”.

The Bible is part of the Arnhoff Bible Collection at the Nordic Bible and Book Museum.
